Violin Mute Silencer Ottavo #89

This is a handmade violin silencer. It can reduce the volume during practice.

Not only does it provide a noticeable sound reduction effect audibly, but its effectiveness is also numerically confirmed through spectrum analysis. In the 1000-6000Hz range, which contains overtones that cause noise, there is a 5-10dB attenuation, meaning the sound is less than half its original loudness. I always practice with this attached.

ARTINO and similar products that attach to the bridge offer high silencing effects, but they have drawbacks such as:
- You cannot see the contact point between the bow and the strings when attached.
- You cannot hear the fundamental tone you want to hear during practice.
- Since it's just placed on the bridge, it can fall off or cause problems if you put it in the case while attached.
- It can leave marks or rubber stains on the bridge.
- It is heavy.
I created this to overcome these issues. After repeated improvements, this is now the 8th generation.

[How to Attach]
Two parts are attached to sandwich the bridge.
They are secured with strong magnets, so when attaching to the bridge, slide the smaller part from the side to avoid impacting the bridge. Finally, you can enhance the effect by moving the parts as high as possible without touching the E string, or by flipping them over.

[Notes]
This product has a height (from the center of the bridge to the E string) of approximately 21mm, so it should be fine if your 4/4 violin has a standard bridge height. While some users have reported success with 1/2 or 1/4 size violins, we cannot guarantee compatibility. In rare cases, even with a 4/4 violin, the height from the bridge to the E string may be insufficient due to the instrument's shape. Please check before ordering. Size: Approximately 42 x 21 x 5 mm. Please excuse minor scratches from the manufacturing process. It may break if subjected to strong impact.
