This is a new, unused item, but it has been in warehouse storage for a long time. When it was moved during a relocation, the plastic covering on the handle peeled off, resulting in small scratches on the handle.
The hygrometer is broken.
There is some rust-like corrosion on parts of the gold plating (see photo 8).
