[Saw Duang Explanation]
A high-pitched Huqin for two strings. It is a Chinese Erhu that was transmitted to Thailand. The body is made of hard wood.
The back of the body is open, and the front is covered with snakeskin. It has a higher pitch range than the Saw Oo.
The Saw Oo is used for the low-pitched part, and the Saw Duang is used for the high-pitched part. It is used in a type of Thai folk music called Krueang Sai.
The bow is held between the two strings, and the playing method is almost the same as the Chinese Erhu.
