Originally written for three basset horns, a member of the clarinet family, many may have heard this piece before as the piano arrangement, known as the Six Viennese Sonatinas, was used in the TV Asahi program Ikinari! Kogane Densetsu.

The catchy and brisk melody is impressive, but the overlapping dissonances in the minor key sections are truly rewarding for wind instruments. Additionally, it has been arranged so that the 1st and 2nd parts play call-and-response melodies.

- 1st and 2nd parts feature melodic call-and-response
(Both parts' highest note is F)
- 3rd part plays the bass line

Ensemble playing is fundamental to ensemble music, making this an ideal practice piece for trumpet players in wind ensembles and orchestras.
Since it is in Bb, it can also be enjoyed by clarinet ensembles.
