Vandoren Legendary 11.1 Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece
This is a Vandoren 11-1 model Bb clarinet mouthpiece, which is now discontinued.
Around the 1980s, Mr. Shigeru Ikushima, the principal clarinetist of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse in France, held return concerts every year, showcasing wonderful performances and captivating clarinetists all over Japan.
And clarinetists across the country sought the mouthpiece he was using.
That was the Vandoren 11.1.
It was still during the time when the 5RV was mainstream, and the B40 did not exist yet. The year after using the 11.1, he used the B40, and the B40 gradually became popular.
Incidentally, the clarinet sound heard on CDs of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse conducted by Plasson is all Mr. Shigeru Ikushima's sound. He later returned to Japan and became a professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts.
The 11.1 has now been removed from the catalog.
Please try the legendary 11.1.
