I used it to mount my 600mm and 500mm lenses for bird photography, but I have other gimbal heads and am also selling this as I transition to a video head.
This is not a flimsy head, so it requires a sturdy tripod. However, as shown in the 6th image, it easily supports an older Sigma 500mm f4.5. Even with a full-frame DSLR attached, the stability remains unchanged.
