The entrance gate can be opened and closed freely, allowing for easy observation of the hive's condition.
Thick boards that can be freely removed are inserted vertically. The biggest feature of this hive is how easy it is to inspect. By removing the entrance gate and holding up a smartphone, you can observe the hive's condition without stressing the bees. Two bottom boards are provided, one for summer and one for winter. The summer board has a mesh for temperature regulation in the summer, making cleaning easier and potentially effective against wax moths. The box has handles, making it easy to add supers. The screened bottom board is compatible with treatments for the Asian honey bee mite. The anti-fall-out bar is removable, making honey harvesting easier. It will be shipped with beeswax applied. For attracting bees, please use Kinryohen. I believe the occupancy rate will increase with the synergistic effect of attractant liquid, hive debris, beeswax, etc. It is a 4-tier structure consisting of three 30cm square, 15cm high boxes with 3-3.5cm thick walls, and an entrance platform, along with a screened bottom board, a lid, and 12 removable bamboo sticks to prevent comb from falling. Japanese honey bees nest between walls, under floors, and even in tombs. Hives are left exposed to the elements for many years. Over time, they will warp and bend due to age. However, bees prefer to nest in such hives.
