The product in the image is Edco copper foil tape, essential for stained glass production.
It is used to wrap the edges of cut glass and then solder over it to join the glass pieces together.

Benefits of Black Back:
This tape has a black adhesive side (the side that contacts the glass).
Improved Appearance: When used with highly transparent glass such as clear glass, the back of the tape appears black through the glass, blending in like a shadow and becoming less noticeable.
Compatibility with Finishing: If you plan to finish the solder with a chemical called patina to blacken it, the solder color will blend with the back of the tape, resulting in a very beautiful finish.

This item has been stored at home for several years. Although it is unused, there are areas where the exterior packaging is peeling.
