The cups have a phenomenon called kannyu (craquelure) on the surface, which looks like fine cracks. This is a decorative pattern and is safe to use as is. (One faint instance). Please forgive any other overlooked imperfections.

This occurs during the cooling process of pottery when there is a difference in the shrinkage rate between the clay body and the glaze. It does not mean the cup itself is cracked and does not affect its strength.
