These crushed stones are made from high-quality, domestically sourced (Gifu Prefecture) chert. They are known for their robustness, resistance to weathering, and lustrous texture. They have a deep hue when wet and a natural, matte appearance when dry, changing their look with the seasons and weather.

■ What is Chert?
○ Chert is a very hard natural stone formed from the accumulation of microscopic quartz (silica). It is a type of sedimentary rock formed over long periods from the solidified remains of plankton that settled on the seabed.
