TENDO, founded in 1940 in Tendo City, Yamagata Prefecture, renowned for its Shogi piece craftsmanship. The company is also known for being the first in Japan to use molded plywood technology in furniture production. It is a long-established furniture manufacturer highly regarded for its technical expertise, producing custom furniture for government offices and corporations. Those who appreciate interior design have likely heard of them at least once.
The luxurious feel of this desk comes from the use of teak wood. Teak wood contains a relatively high amount of oil, giving it a characteristic glossy sheen. As it is used over time, variations in color depth emerge, making the aging process a delightful aspect of teak wood.
Furthermore, chrome-finished steel is used for the legs and handles. This adds a sense of lightness to the substantial feel, creating a design that does not feel overwhelming and can harmonize with various interior styles.
