These are logs that have been used for shiitake mushroom cultivation for 3-5 years, now cut.
These are domestic Konara oak logs.
They are quite worn out, but how about using them for insect breeding?
As shown in the photos, there are variations in size, diameter, length, mycelial penetration, and hardness for each piece.
Also, some logs have peeling bark or holes, and occasionally insects may be present.
If you are concerned, please heat-treat them before use.

Around the bark, the wood is soft enough for a toothpick to penetrate.
