This is a horsehair sieve.

My mother used it for making kinton (a traditional Japanese sweet) for New Year's, but it has been stored without being used for a long time.
I don't think I will have the opportunity to use it again, so I am listing it for sale. There are no loose bands or dents on the surface of the mesh, but when I removed it for this listing, it wouldn't fit back in. I believe this is due to some warping, but I don't want to break it further, so I am listing it as is.
I believe it is still usable.
