■Product Description
A storm glass is a weather forecasting instrument used by sailors and others in the 19th century. It is made by sealing camphor (camphor tree extract), ethanol, etc., in a glass tube, and was used to observe the crystals that formed in response to climate changes. It is also installed in the Nautilus in Jules Verne's novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. As science developed, it became clear that the crystallization phenomenon is largely a mystery, and details are still under research. While its practical use as a predictor is difficult today, please enjoy the ever-changing crystals with the TempoDrop series, just as the scenery changes with the seasons.
