For cats and very small dogs, we select aged, hard branches and peel them to create these toys.

Since we do not hollow out the wood, peel the bark, or shave it, many customers have kindly told us that the hardness and chewability are different from other products ?

I wish I had found and bought this sooner, they get so absorbed in it!

Recommended for puppies and young dogs to help with teething, prevent mischief, stop them from chewing on shoes and clothes, and for those worried about their dogs destroying their homes.

We've made a set of two, one pear wood and one zelkova wood, for those who want to try both.

Left: Zelkova, approx. 19.0 x 1.0-1.3 cm

Right: Pear, approx. 17.5 x 1.1-1.5 cm
Approx. 1.6 cm including small branches

Please note that these are amateur measurements and may have errors.

Please compare the size with your dog's mouth size and the size of the stuffed animals or balls they currently play with.
For dogs in the teething stage, male Japanese dogs, and active breeds with strong chewing power, a slightly thicker diameter that they can hold in their mouths will allow them to enjoy it for longer.

Pear wood branches are less likely to have splinters, and the wood shavings after chewing crumble like cork, so they are harmless if swallowed.
The bark is peeled one by one from pear branches from Niigata Prefecture and dried for two years.

As these are amateur handmade items, they are cut with a chainsaw and the small branches are sanded with a belt sander (file), but please understand that there may be missed spots or cracks/splits due to excessive drying.
As it is wood, their teeth will not be damaged, and as long as you choose the size carefully, there is no risk of injuring their mouths, but please let them play under your supervision.
