To elaborate a bit, smoking can be done in various ways. Some methods involve using smoke from waste wood, fallen leaves, or dried leaves, or artificially smoking reeds in a smoker for a few months or years. While these are all forms of smoking, true smoking is different. It involves the natural resins from trees felled in the mountains rising with the smoke and settling onto the reeds over many years, nurturing them into a resilient and flexible material.
