The Japanese in the feature explanation images is a bit questionable, but based on the device display and the manual, there were no concerning Kanji characters.
Although I didn't use it, it seems to be usable when connected to a smartphone.

*I used it to record a small meeting for about 3 hours, and I didn't find it particularly difficult to understand during playback.
