Ishigami-san, enshrined within the grounds of Shinmei Shrine and one of the Toba Three Goddesses, has been gaining significant attention in recent years, with visitors constantly coming from all over the country. Originally, it has long been revered by local Ama (female divers) who prayed for abundant catches and safety. The grid-like Doman and star-shaped Seman patterns, inscribed on items worn by Ama divers when entering the sea, are used as talismans to pray for safety at sea. These Doman and Seman symbols are also inscribed on the amulets available at Ishigami-san.
