◆1890's Victorian Church Chair w/Bible Back Holder
A chair used in a church in the 19th century.

◆ Over 100 years of presence
◆ The cross is carved in a clover shape.

■ This is a chair that was used in a church sanctuary.
There are various types, such as those with a cross design carved into them, and those with a pocket on the back to hold a Bible.

■ To allow for long periods of sitting in church, the seat of the chair is carved into a curved shape that follows the contours of the hips.
✨ I purchased these chairs in bulk from an antique shop in Kachidoki about 30 years ago.
At the time, they cost around ¥40,000 each.

✨ I used them as dining chairs in my home.
I will send you the cleanest chair possible with minimal wobbling.

✨ It has a heavy, substantial feel with a dark brown color like walnut.

✨ The backrest to the legs are made from a single piece, creating a beautiful curved design.
(While many church chairs have a cross cutout, I believe the clover cutout is rare.)
