Paul Cézanne Biography:
1839-1906
Born into a wealthy family in Aix-en-Provence, Southern France. His classmate was the future novelist Émile Zola.
He moved to Paris, deepened his friendships with Impressionist painters, and exhibited in Impressionist exhibitions.
Rather than pursuing light and color like Monet, he considered the form of objects as pure motifs for creation and aimed to produce robust works.
He can be considered not only a representative of Post-Impressionism but also one of the most influential figures on 20th-century art movements.
He left behind the famous words, Treat nature by the cylinder, the sphere, the cone.
