Purchased about 20 years ago from a shop run by a French furniture craftsman and kept in storage at home. The shop is now closed. It was a wonderful shop! The French owner used to find items at flea markets and other places, restore them, and sell them, so all the products were beautiful. This is a rare framed glass piece with incredibly detailed etching and hand-colored illustrations, among the finest I've ever seen! As you can see from the photos, the town of Cavaillon in the South of France is depicted with exquisite detail. The lettering at the bottom is also handwritten and superb! It's a small frame, so it won't be intrusive and can be displayed and enjoyed anywhere. Just looking at it makes you feel transported to that era, and I love works like this! As this is an old item, please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection. Thank you for your understanding and purchase.
